This site is a ministry resource hub built around Scripture, the gospel of Jesus Christ, discipleship, theology, preaching, church health, and the Christian life. Here you will find biblical articles, podcast conversations, book recommendations, and free training resources for Christians, pastors, ministry leaders, and churches.
Why “Salty Believer”?
In Matthew 5, Jesus told his disciples, “You are the salt of the earth” and “You are the light of the world.” Christians often understand the image of light. We are called to reflect Christ, bear witness to the truth, and shine in a dark world. Salt is a little less obvious, but no less important. Salt preserves. Salt flavors. Salt gets into things. It is not flashy, but it makes a difference.
A Salty Believer is not an angry believer. The internet has plenty of those already, and most of them should probably take a walk and read Proverbs. A Salty Believer is a Christian who is in the world but not of the world, shaped by Christ, grounded in Scripture, and useful in the places God has placed him.

You will find book recommendations, free training resources, Bible study helps, and ministry tools designed to serve Christians and churches.
The aim is simple: more Scripture, better theology, deeper discipleship, healthier churches, and a clearer witness to Jesus Christ.
Who Salty Believer Serves
Salty Believer exists to serve Christians who want to grow in biblical faithfulness. It is for pastors and ministry leaders who want to think carefully about preaching, discipleship, leadership, church health, and the work of shepherding God’s people. It is for church members who want to know the Bible better, love Christ more deeply, and serve the local church more faithfully. It is for those exploring Christianity who need a clear explanation of the gospel rather than vague religious fog with Christian vocabulary sprinkled on top.
About the Work
SaltyBeliever.com is led by Bryan Catherman, with help from co-hosts, guests, contributors, interns, and friends who have served the ministry in different ways over the years. The podcast has included many guests and several co-hosts across different seasons. Articles, training resources, videos, and conversations have come from a variety of contributors. The technology has changed. The website has changed. The seasons of ministry have changed.
The aim remains the same: to point people to Scripture, the gospel, and the faithfulness of Christ in and through the local church.
